‘Recession is an opportunity for students’

Pune "Today students come to HR professional asking for the practical experience. Practical experience is going to be happening, but you should be very thorough in your theory. Don't care about the recession. As a young student this is the wonderful opportunity for you to upgrade the theoretical knowledge. So Use this specific time to update your knowledge. Update yourself with latest trends and technique in the industry. Recession is an opportunity for the fresher," said D B Nimbalkar, chairman, National Institute of Personal Management, Pune Chapter and viice president, Human Resources Management, Kirloskar Brothers Ltd, said here recently.

Nimbalkar was addressing the "Institute – Industry Interface" seminar at Bharati Vidyapeeth's IMED College, Erandwane organised by the National Institute of Personal Management and Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Management Entrepreneurship Development, Pune. Dr Nitin Nayak, director-IMED, Sudhir Gogte, director-Keihinfie Pvt Ltd, R D Chaudhary, G M (HR), Tata Yazaki Auto Comp Ltd and S N Kode, G M (HR), Sandvik Asia Ltd were also present on this occasion. "When we go for the recruitment and particularly when we go for the fresher, every organisation has a belief that young force has to be recruited. Most of the companies are having BTBJT scheme. Because of the recession intake will be low, but students or fresher should not be worried about the recession, " Nimbalkar said.
