Recreation centre to be set up at Khuda Alisher

Chandigarh, March 1 The State Aids Control Society (SACS) has decided to establish a recreation room at the community care centre in Khudda Alisher. Besides, the society will also extend the Interactive Voice Response System project. The decision was taken in the 14th meeting of Executive Committee of the SACS held under the chairmanship of UT Home and Health Secretary Krishna Mohan.

Mohan said the recreation room would provide PLHAs an opportunity for creative activities. It will also serve as a place to provide night shelter to attendants and patients. He said the NACO would be asked to provide additional funds to support HIV infected children and widows in it.

Mohan further said that a mega event involving Red Ribbon Clubs would be organised by the SACS before March this year. A new community care centre would also be set up in the building vacated by Kendriya Vidyalya, Sector 31, as it was located near GMCH- 32, he said. The committee ratified many more decisions including establishment of new ICTC at the polyclinic in Sector 45, Chandigarh, test for fixing salary of counsellors and laboratory technicians of ICTCs, creation of additional post of one lab technisian for ICTC at Department of Immunopathology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, and to create new strategy for TI projects.
