Children aged between 10-16 years clad in their bright red, blue, yellow and orange Akanksha t-shirts expressed their gratitude by walking through the areas of Wakdewadi, Khadki, Kothrud, Aundh, Morwadi, Chandanagar and Shivajinagar.
The expressions and reactions of both the community workers and the children were priceless. The children were bubbling with joy and enthusiasm as they cheerfully expressed their gratitude to all the people in society who make life possible for us everyday. With a mission to bring changes in the lives of less privileged children by enabling them to maximize their potential, Akanksha offers the children opportunity to learn about service and engage in projects that give back to society. Kids have engaged in a variety of projects such as making and distributing paper bags to hawkers, serving breakfast to laborers at a flyover construction site and adopting old people in their communities. Kishor a child at Akanksha says, “This has given me the opportunity to thank all those people who are working everyday for us.”
