Ludhiana, February 24 Five residents of the city have come forward to adopt children of the school being run at Govind Godham at Hambran Road here.

According to to Sunder Dass Dhameeja, the chairman of Govind Godham, “During the last two days, I received a number of queries about the school from residents. And five of them have adopted five children for education. One of them was so eager to serve these children that he alone was ready to spend Rs 2,500 per month on all these five. But I did not agree to it. As each one shall serve one, he too adopted one child for education purpose.”

Ludhiana Newsline, it may mentioned, had highlighted about this school on February 22 in a story headlined, “From begging to schooling, these kids spell hope for family.” This help for education is up to the time till a particular child wants to study. Dhameeja said that now out of 70, 45 children have been adopted by the city residents. Each child needs a financial help to the tune of Rs 500 per month for education. He urged the public to come forward for the noble cause.
