Kolkata A section of the residents of South City Housing Complex on Sunday protested against the developers of the complex for failing to keep the promises made by them when they sold the flats. “Basic amenities are lacking here. Right from car parking area to club, everything was incomplete when we took possession of the flats,” said Pradipta Bhattacharya, the owner of a flat. The residents also complained about lack of open and green areas in the complex.

“Further, they have raised a fifth tower violating the agreement that there will be only four towers. They have not sought our consent before selling the flats in this tower,” said Bhattacharya.

The promoters, however, smell foul play in the entire protest. “Of the 1,600 flat owners, only 70 to 80 were involved in the protest. These people have vested interests. They are making a hue and cry out of nothing because they want to gain by harassing us,” said Pradik Surekha of Surekha Group, one of the promoters of the complex.
