Amritsar, February 4 The Majha Ex-servicemen Human Rights Front (MESHRF) has once again demanded immediate arrest of nihang chief Ajit Singh Poohla, who is facing various cases, including murders and illegal confinements.

Front chief Lt Col SS Sandhu (retd) today said Poohla, who had created terror in Tarn Taran and other districts and had been enjoying political and police patronage during the previous Congress regime, was moving scot-free.

“We are keeping a close watch on his activities. Many aids of Poohla were behind bars, but the head of the gang is still to be arrested. This brings functioning of the police under a cloud,” he said.

He added that over seven gurdwaras had been freed from the illegal possession of Poohla. Sandhu said various investigation teams were constituted and their reports would be submitting before the Punjab and Haryana High Court on February 20.
