Ring road by-pass, ‘special’ school, road projects get govt go-ahead

New Delhi, March 7 The Expenditure and Finance Committee of Delhi Government on Friday cleared three proposals amounting to Rs 669 crore. The proposals were cleared in an EFC meeting presided over by Delhi Finance Minister Dr AK Walia.

Dr Walia said after the meeting that a Ring Road by-pass from Salimgarh Fort to Velodrome Road will cost Rs 654.39 crore and will be constructed within 30 months from the date of award of work.

The EFC has also authorised the PWD to ensure possession of land belonging to MCD, DDA, Railway, L&DO, Delhi Police and I&FC Department within six months to facilitate construction at the earliest.

Also cleared was a proposal of the Social Welfare Department for the construction of a primary school building for deaf and dumb at Nehru Vihar with an estimated cost of Rs 5.55 crore which will be constructed within 15 months.

The committee has cleared a proposal for the carpeting of Dhansa-Najafgarh Road from Dhansa Border to village Mitraon in Najafgarh Block with an estimated cost of Rs 9.16 crore.
