The girl-next-door appeal and a goody image after the smash hit film Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na has probably landed Genelia D’Souza a lucrative contract with a cola brand. D’Souza chats easily about her dud debut (she starred in Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003 that sank at the box office). “Yes, Jaane Tu…changed everything. I’m doing three new films now,” she says.

When we tell her she’s the seventh most Googled person according to the web browser’s 2008 India Zeitgeist List. “Am I? That’s exciting. I didn’t even know that until this moment, phew!” she laughs. With a more successful career in Telugu films so far, D’Souza has now landed bigger Hindi movies — Abbas Mustan’s Life Partner with Akshaye Khanna, Anees Bazmee’s It’s My Life with Harman Baweja and David Dhawan’s Hook Ya Crook with John Abraham.
