Rly athletics meet from February 9

Pune The Railway Sports Promotion Board has organised 17 th Men and 14 th Women USIC World Railway Athletics Championship 2009.

It will be conducted by Central Railway Sports Association. Minister of State for Railways (North) Naranbhai J Rathwa will be the chief guest for opening ceremony at the athletic stadium in Shiv Chhatrapati Sports City, Balewadi at 4 30 pm on February 9. Minister of State for Railways (South) R. Velu MOSR will be chief quest for closing ceremony on February 12. Suresh Kalmadi, MP and president, Indian Olympic Association, will be the guest of honour for opening and closing ceremony.

Athletes from all around the world, includng Russia, France, Swis, Poland, Finland & Norway are participating in this championship, stated a press release.
