Mumbai The youth who had rammed Moti Jhangiani (83) while riding his father’s motorcycle was released on bail. However, the Khar police have changed the charge against the 15-year-old and charged with causing death by negligence as the victim succumbed to her injuries. According to the sources, the youth will be charged in a juvenile court. The youth was riding his father’s motorcycle along Linking Road in Khar, when he rammed Jhangiani at 7:30 pm on Sunday. The victim was on his way back after visting a temple. Later, the youth was arrested by the Khar police.

“Incidentally, this accident was noticed by Aamir Khan who was on his way to South Mumbai for a shoot. He asked a member of his police bodyguards to check the matter. A case was also registered by him and the victim was admitted to Holy Family Hospital,” said Police Sub Inspector M Kohli of the Khar police station. “Initially, Jhangiani had only fractures on his body. But on Monday he passed away. This forced us make the charge harsher,” he said. Asked if there was a possibility that the youth had his father’s consent to ride the motorcycle, he said, “I don’t think it is possible. He might not have taken his father’s consent as the accident happened so early in the morning.”
