New Delhi Four robbers were lynched by an angry mob in Balram Nagar in the Loni area of Ghaziabad.

Six robbers allegedly entered C block in Balram Nagar and broke into the house of the principal of the Radhelal Inter College. Ramesh Bhardwaj, a resident of C-39, had gone to his brother Amit’s house. He also lives in C block.

When Ramesh returned to his home later in the evening, he found the lock broken from outside. He got suspicious and called his brother and other family members. He also called his neighbours and the security guards posted at the colony gate.

SP (City) Anant Dev said the robbers sensed that they had been surrounded by the residents and went on the roof. “The robbers opened fire and the security guards fired back. They then tried to escape but four of them were caught by the mob which then beat them to death with stones and lathis. The two others managed to escape,” Dev said.

The bodies of the robbers were taken to Yashoda Hospital for a postmortem. Their identities are yet to be ascertained. The police recovered a .9mm pistol from the robbers.
