Robbers strike again in Panchkula

Panchkula Following the spate of daylight robberies in Panchkula, another case was reported on Thursday from house number 233 in Sector 14. The estimated quantum of the robbery is nearly Rs 1.25 lakh including some cash and gold.

Owner of the house, K R Sharma, came to know about the robbery when his son returned from school around 2.30 pm and found the entire house ransacked.

“My son informed me immediately from the neighbour’s telephone. The robbers were present in the house for a long time as they did not leave any place unsearched,” said Sharma.

He added: “As it appears now, two gold sets along with Rs 25,000 has been robbed.”

Sharma further said that though the police reached the place within 15 minutes, they did not start investigations till about 5 pm until the forensic team arrived.

The robbers broke the main door of the house and ran away from the other door when the tenant on the first floor tried to raise an alarm. They even left behind their weapons that included sharp iron rods.

K R Sharma is an employee with the Sports Department in Sector 3 Tau Devi Lal Stadium while his wife Vinod Rani Sharma works with the FCI. The couple was at work during the incident. After registering a case, the police have started investigations into the incident.
