The Sehgal Filling Station is hardly a few meters away from the Miller Ganj police post.
Raghubir Singh, a native of Himachal Pradesh, was opening the filling station around 6 am when an unidentified man asked him to hand over money to him. When the victim did not relent, the robber fired at him from his gun-like object and a few pellets hit him on his face and neck and fled from the spot.
Undeterred, Raghubir chased the robber, who ran towards the Islam Ganj locality.
The Miller Ganj police post in-charge, Sub Inspector (SI) Mukesh Kumar said that the police had registered a case under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 382 (theft after preparations made for death, hurt or restraint), 511 (attempt) and 450 (trespass) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the unidentified robber. He said they would also try to get the sketch of the robber made.
Meanwhile, Raghubir Singh was discharged from the hospital after first aid.
