The weeklong workshop titled Do-It-Yourself Robotics will be held at IIM-A’s new campus for the students of Class VIII and above. This has been done recognising the widely felt need of robotics education in schools.
Pulkit Gaur, founder and chief technological officer, GTPL, said, “During the week, schoolchildren will learn the aspects of robot building and designing. It would include hands-on sessions, where the kids will learn the basics of physics, mathematics and programming, which are used in robot designing and fabrication.”
To add to it, the children will also be provided with an innovative robot kit — Turle — indigenously developed by GTPL to help metamorphose their imagination into a tangible form, Pulkit added.
GTPL added that the robots can be programmed using a visual programming language, ‘Viprol’, an innovation of the company to assist rapid programming of robots, utilising ‘drag and drop’ functionality.
The robots thus made will be able to follow a black line, detect and avoid obstacles, seek light, use TV remote to navigate and can be programmed particularly by the kids, Pulkit said.
