Vadodara In a major blunder at M S University (MSU) Youth Festival, the Rock show on Thursday was cancelled at the last moment when the artistes refused to perform. This is one of the odd-events at MSU, where the Students' Union was caught unawares till the evening.

Amita Mistry, Vice-President of the Students' Union, said: "I just know the artists booked for the event were cancelled. I don't have much details right now."

Sources said Rahul Vaid of Indian Idol fame was scheduled to perform but the Students' Union later fixed Rex D'Sousa. However, D'Sousa refused to perform, after the student leaders refused to pay him for the performance. Vikas Dubey, ABVP executive committee member, said: "It was due to the faulty sound system that the artiste refused to perform in the event. However, we have a standby event."
