Chandigarh In what can be termed as the Administrator’s day out, UT Administrator General S F Rodrigues (Retd) today inspected the progress of various projects across the city. Accompanied by senior officials, Rodrigues took stock of the various projects across the city. Setting deadlines for the projects, he told officials to focus on inclusive growth while planning projects.

During his inspection of the Vocational Training Centre for Street Children, the Administrator set February 1, 2009 as the deadline for the project. While inspecting the under construction Regional Centre for Mentally Handicapped in Sector 31, Rodrigues told the Engineering department to complete the first phase by February 1, 2009.

Later, the work on the construction of E-Block at the Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, was started in his presence. He set a target of eighteen months for the completion of the project.

During a visit to the new block of OPD in Super-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, which is being under construction, Rodrigues told the Engineering department officials to complete the project by December, 2009. He also discussed the scope of facilities which are to be provided in the new block and told the Home Secretary and Director Health Services to prepare an action plan with focus on ultra-modern medical infrastructure to meet the needs of the region for the coming decades.
