Ropar Press Club elections held; Bahardurjeet is president

Ropar Bahadurjeet Singh was unanimously elected president of the Ropar Press Club during an election meeting held at the Press Club site today.

Swaran Singh Bhangu was elected senior vice-president, while Vijay Sharma was elected vice-president, Satish Jagota as secretary, Randeep Vashisht as joint secretary and Satnam Singh Satti was elected as treasurer.

Arun Puri, Megha Mann, Avtar Singh Kamboj, Surjit Singh, Kamal Bharaj were elected as the executive members of the club. Rajinder Saini was appointed as project director for the construction of the Press Club building and

a permanent special invitee to the executive committee.

Veteran journalist Gurcharan Singh Bindra, who acted as the returning officer, was appointed as a patron of the club.

While thanking the members for his election, Bahadurjeet Singh said the construction of the New Press Club building would be his top priority. Besides this, various projects would be undertaken for the welfare of journalists.
