Rosa reinvented

It's been three years already and Rosa Catalino can't get herself to think of going back home. And why should she? "I love India," you hear the Italian model - till now known famously for being Saif Ali Khan's arm candy - say with all sincerity. So what if things didn't go as planned. She's played it Saif, oops, safe and is now moving on. "Life is how you see it. If a door closes, you can't keep hoping for it to open again. You have to see the other three doors that opened alongside," says Rosa, who chose to open doors to reality TV. "It's not my first time on television. I have done advertisements before but yes this is something new," tells Catalino, taking a breather from the sets of Yeh Hai Jalwa, an all-new dance reality show that goes on air on Channel 9X this March 16.

For Rosa, this is a "passion" that had been simmering on the backburner for a while. "I have been dancing ever since I was 12. I love to dance," admits the model who has "trained in salsa" though she "loves to watch ballet" and "can do a bit of hip-hop" as well. Interestingly, Yeh Hai Jalwa will see Rosa compete with the likes of television stars Shweta Tiwari, Prachi Desai, Rohit Roy, Hussain Kuwajerwala, Sharad Malhotra and Ronit Roy on the dance floor. Produced by Cineyug and Eternal Dreams India Pvt Ltd, the show strangely brings in a line-up of celebrity contestants, most of who didn't come out winners in elsewhere held dance reality shows! "For me it was about giving myself a chance to explore my talent," says the lady who has been keeping herself suitably fit by indulging in yoga. "It's a great way to get the flexibility and yes try and gain some height," she laughs. So will she be game for Bollywood style dance? "I am ok with any kind of dance. Even belly dancing…it's something I enjoy," reaffirms the model who is hoping the audience takes a liking to her. "When I signed on this reality show I liked the fact that you don't have to just play around but work hard," says Rosa who for now is refusing to take on Bollywood.

"I am going with the flow," she says softly. So while the reason she came to India is history, the future here is surely making her stay on. Atta girl!
