Special CBI Judge Talwant Singh also directed that case files be sent to the court of the District Judge for further directions.

The court's direction came after an exchange of words with Ramesh Gupta, counsel for accused Lalit Bhanot.

Following regular arguments on scrutiny of documents, and once the matter was adjourned for the next day, Gupta, addressing the judge, said a hostile atmosphere was being created by calling the accused to the court everyday.

"The public prosecutor and the naib of this court visit the chamber of the judge off and on and it gives an impression to the accused, advocates and the press that a fair trial is not being conducted," Gupta told the judge.

The judge pulled him up for not acting in a manner befitting a senior lawyer.

"A senior advocate is expected to act in the most dignified way and set an example for other advocates to follow. Unfortunately, Ramesh Gupta has failed to do so while appearing before this court today. Let this conduct... be brought to the notice of the Chief Justice of High Court of Delhi," the judge said.

He said Gupta's allegations were false, and that there was no occasion for the public prosecutor and naib to visit the judge's chamber.

"When specifically asked as to under whose instructions he is making this false allegation and who is ready to give his affidavit in this regard, Ramesh Gupta became evasive and said that he was not briefed in this regard by his client or his briefing counsel but he is stating so on behalf of the Bar which he represents as its leader," the judge said.
