Royston nets winner

Mumbai Mahindra United Under-19 team produced a strong second half performance as they came from behind to overcome the gritty challenge of Dena Bank by a 2-1 margin and keep their title hopes alive in the Super Division of the Mahindra Mumbai Football League.

Mahindra United colts found the match-winner through their central midfielder Royston D’Souza, who also won the Budweiser man-of-the-match, as he unleashed a brilliant free-kick in stoppage time to help his team earn the vital three points in the Super Six stage encounter, played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday.

After ringing in the changes at the start of the second half, the Mahindra outfit, got the equalizer through striker Varin Mehta after Dena Bank enjoyed a first half lead through Arshad Ansari who netted in the 19th minute of play.

With this victory, Mahindra colts improved their league tally to seven points from three matches.
