Rs 14.33 lakh missing from SBI’s Malda ATMs

Malda The State Bank of India (SBI) officials on Sunday lodged a complaint with the police here alleging that Rs 14.33 lakh was missing from the two ATMs in Malda town.

The SBI officials claimed that Rs 3.30 lakh was missing from the Malda Main branch ATM while 11.03 lakh was missing from the Tourist lodge ATM, police sources said.

The SBI officials, who lodged the complaint with the English Station police station said they found the money missing from the two ATMs on January 28 during audit, sources said.

SBI Regional Manager S K Chakraborty said the bank has already started an internal inquiry into the matter.

Superintendent of Police Satyajit Banerjee said police has started a probe into the matter and the two ATMs have been closed by the bank.
