On his return, Singh found that the windowpane of the backseat (behind the driver) was broken and his briefcase was missing.
Singh said: “The briefcase contained Rs 30,000 in cash, the passports of my daughter and me, cheque books and passbooks of various banks.”
He added that the police response to his complaint was very slow and he had to wait for nearly an hour for the police to arrive.
On the other hand, Division number 5 Station House Officer Sandeep Wadhera denied arriving late at the spot.
“After the initial complaint, Randhir Singh did not come to the police station to register an FIR. However, we are looking into the matter and efforts are on to trace the thieves.” Singh is a resident of Bhai Randhir Singh (BRS) Nagar in Ludhiana.
