RTI activist Shailesh Gandhi conferred third Nani A Palkhiwala Civil Liberties Award

Noted Right to Information (RTI) activist Shailesh Gandhi has been conferred third Nani A Palkhiwala Civil Liberties Award for the preservation and protection of civil liberties in India. Gandhi was chosen for the award by a panel comprising Justice (retired) MN Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India, Justice (retired) S N Variava and Justice (retired) Sujata Manohar, both former Judges of the Supreme court of India.

The award will be presented at a function organised on January 11, Friday at 6 pm. The function will be held at Tata Theatre, NCPA at Nariman Point.

When contacted Gandhi said, “I really feel it is recognition for the RTI and it is coincidence that I am working for it.”
