Viewing the hooliganism at Pune Municipal Corporation headquarters on Monday over filing of tenders and the alleged involvement of some NCP corporators, District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar has directed the city unit chief of the party, Jayadev Gaikwad to seek an explanation from three of its corporators. He has promised action if they are found guilty.

Local NCP leader and former mayor Ankush Kakade on Tuesday told reporters about Pawar’s direction.

The three NCP corporators allegedly involved were Dattatray Dhankawade, Balasaheb Bodke and Sunil Tingare.

The Congress, the BJP and even the NCP have expressed concern over Monday’s ruckus. Alleged “goons” had virtually taken control of the tender cell of for about three hours in the afternoon in an attempt to block other civic contractors from filing tenders for five different civic projects worth over Rs 100 crore.
