Chandigarh The Haryana government today launched the Rs 1125 crore-Naandi Community Safe Water Project which will provide clean drinking water to 100 villages. The water treatment plant is based on reverse osmosis technology.

Located in Dujana village of Jhajjar district, the project has been set up with the assistance of Hyderabad-based Naandi Foundation, an NGO.

It was jointly inaugurated by Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Dr Raghuvir Singh Kadian and MP Deepinder Singh Hooda.

Speaking on the occasion, Deepinder Hooda said the state government, under the leadership of the Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, is committed to make the state self-reliant in the power and provide portable water to the people. Dr Raghuvir Kadian said the treated water would be supplied by the Naandi Foundation to the beneficiaries at the rate of 10 paise per litre.

Two persons of every village would be engaged at the centre. He appreciated the efforts made by Deepinder in taking steps in this regard.
