Lucknow With the Lok Sabha polls being announced on Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its saffron allies have joined hands to assure that the party gets the maximum seats in the state.

The party, along with the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Bajrang Dal will be formulating their poll strategy in a three-day meet at Ayodhya which kickstarts from Wednesday.

The meet will see representatives from all four saffron organisations coming together to ensure that the party garners the maximum number of seats in the state.

According to sources, the meet will see some candidates of BJP, whose names have already been announced, delving strategies and poll plans.

Of the 51 seats announced so far, the seats where all the saffron organisations will be working together are Lucknow, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mainpuri, Mirzapur, Faizabad, Ghaziabad and Varanasi.

The party has already fielded senior leaders like Lalji Tandon, former union minister Murli Manohar Joshi and national general secretary Vinay Katiyar among others.

Speaking about the meet, state head of VHP Purshottam said: “It is primarily a meet of all the similar thinking organisations. For the last several months, we have been organising individual worker meets and conferences, which has helped us to find our weaknesses and strengths in different areas.”

“In the first two-days, we will be focusing on the strengths of each outfit. We are also aware as to which of our factions is strong in which constituency,” he said.

The third day will see planning for the polls.

“Based on strength, everyone will be assigned different tasks in different constituencies,” said a senior BJP leader.

“While the VHP is quite strong in places like Varanasi and other constituencies of the Kashi Praant, BJP’s city units are strong in some constituencies in Awadh Prant,” he said.

“We will keep this in mind before distributing the task,” he said.

“Since the RSS happens to be one of the oldest organisations under whose fold all the other organisations come, we will be following their strategies to get closer to the masses,” he added.
