Salaam Zindagi to hold blood donation camp

Ludhiana Salaam Zindagi Foundation will hold a blood donation camp at Guru Nanak Bhawan here on January 5 to mark the 342nd birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh. The foundation, set up by the members of Punjab Medical Representatives Association (PMRA), aims to collect 342 units of blood at the camp.

Describing the journey of the NGO so far, president Manjit Saini said the NGO had roped in more than 700 members in order to promote voluntary blood donation. “We started the NGO with the help of 50 persons from PMRA. With many other social organistions joining hands with us later, there are more than 700 members in the NGO now,” he said.

Speaking at a press conference, he said Sudhir Modgil, a voluntary blood donor, will donate blood for the 100th time. Among those present at the meeting today were Mandeep Rawat, vice president of the foundation, BS Negi, working secretary, SM Sharma, principal of Arya College, Varinder Kaur Thind, principal Khalsa College for Women and Dr Malkiat Singh, principal, SCD Government College.
