Salt Lake firm dupes employees

Kolkata A company in the Sector V area of Salt Lake was accused on Monday of duping more than 100 employees of Rs 50,000 each. The employees were recruited in September 2008 as software developers with a monthly stipend of Rs 7,000 for the first six months as trainee. All recruits had to give caution money of Rs 50,000 each. In October, the recruits had not received any stipend and when they were finally given cheque’s in January 2009, the got bounced. On Monday, they came to the office only to find it empty. The students have filed diary with the Salt Lake Sector V outpost. “This is a fraud company that has not been performing for the last two years,” said IT Minister Debesh Das. “We will be filing an FIR with the Bidhan Nagar east police station,” said a recruit.
