Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan declares maths, science result

Ludhiana The district-wise results of the competitive examination in Mathematics and Science, which was held for Class V and VIII students on January 10 by the Sarva shiksha Abhiyaan, was declared on Tuesday. Nearly 88,000 students from the two classes — V and VIII — had appeared in the examination. While 48,658 Class VIII students took the exam in Mathematics, 48,690 Class VIII students took part in the Science competition.

The total number of Class V students who appeared in the competition (Mathematics) was 38,999. The top three students in each district will be given prizes worth Rs 2,100, 1,500, 1,000 respectively. Those who have stood first, second and third in the district will participate in a state-level competition to be held on February 14.

From Ludhiana, Anmmol of GPS Ghungrall Sikhan came first in the Class V Mathematics exam and Reeta Kumari of GSSMS, PAU stood first in the Class VIII Mathematics exam. Jaskirat Kaur of GSSS Khanpur, came first in the Science exam for Class VIII. The exam was conducted by the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan Authority.
