The conference will be inaugurated by Gujarat Vidyapeeth Vice-Chancellor Sudarshan Iyengar and presided over by president of NLP, C V Chari.
Addressing mediapersons on Friday, NLP General Secretary, Parmanand Panchal, said that the parishad was also contemplating using Nagari script for those dialects which are spoken in different parts of the country, but are not available in the written form because they do not have a script of their own.
He added that among these dialects, Bodo in the north east and Bhojpuri in the north could be developed as independent languages by using Nagari script. Similarly, there are several other dialects that have failed to develop because of the absence of a script. Nagari script could be used to promote such dialects, he said.
When asked if the use of Nagari script will prove successful, Panchal said that a large volume of Urdu literature had been transcripted into Nagari and was a big success.
"You can find a large number of Urdu ghazals and song books in Nagari script, which have been in high demand in the market," he said.
Regarding the probablity of Nagari script emergence as an international language, he said that it was very difficult to write Chinese and Japanese languages. “We can make an effort to use Nagari script for writing these languages, as it is much easier,” he said.
