The school has been blamed for adding a new toilet in the premises besides erecting a new gate on the campus. H S Mamik, chairman of the school, said: “Nothing is unauthorised. In 2003, the revised plan was cleared by the Plan Approval Committee which is headed by the Deputy Commissioner. Ironically, we were never informed about it. It was only through the RTI that we got the information. When the paperwork is complete in all respects, why are they raising the issue now?”

“The constructed part, which according to the Administration is violation, already forms part of the revised plan that we had submitted to them in 1996. It has been more than ten years that we are awaiting approval.”

Soon after getting the partial completion certificate, the school management submitted the new plan in 1998. All construction going on in the school is to the knowledge of the Administration, he asserted. The Administration has also put an objection to use cycle shed in the basement for hobby classes.

The school has also been asked to pay Rs 1.2 crore as fine for not completing the building in the prescribed period of time. Mamik said: “The chief administrator had decided that there was no money to be paid to get the completion certificate. The Estate Office had moved the court in this regard. The matter is still pending with the High Court and we will go by the orders given by the court.”
