School headmaster arrested for molesting girl students

Rourkela, September 8: A head master of a residential school at Jhunumera, about 80 km from in Rourkela, was arrested for allegedly molesting three girl students, police said on Monday.

The headmaster, Karunakar Nayak, of Jhunumera school in Sundergarh district was arrested on Sunday following FIRs filed by the parents of the three girl students of the school accusing him of molestation.

The headmaster was produced before the judicial magistrate who remanded him to jail custody for 14 days.

The students had alleged that the head master had asked them to stay back in school after Ganesh puja on September three on the pretext of some work and molested them in his chamber under the influence of liquor.
