Second day of protest by industrialists

Ludhiana, February 5 The protest by Ludhiana industrialists on steel prices hike today entered the second day. The industrialists are sitting on a chain hunger strike. They have threatened that a dharna will be staged in front of the Prime Minister’s office if steel prices are not regulated.

The industrialists carried out a candle march from Vishvakarma Chowk to Jagraon Bridge. KK Seth, spokesperson of United Cycles Parts and Manufacturers Association said, “At the end of the candle march, we took a pledge in the name of our martyrs that our protest will not end till our demands are met.”

Charanjit Singh Vishvakarma and Narinder Bhamra have been made conveners for the steel price issue, while Varinder Kapoor is general secretary of the forum. Inderjit Singh Navyug, Rajinder Singh Pappu, Manmohan Singh Ubhi, Pardeep Vadhawan and few others were sitting on dharna even today.
