Second phase of polio campaign launched in Mohali

Mohali The second round of the national pulse polio immunisation campaign was launched in Mohali by A R Talwar, principal secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Punjab, on Sunday. He administered polio drops to children from Dera Bassi and other villages in Mohali. Talwar said 16,000 booths, including transit camps, have been set up across Punjab to administer polio drops to 38 lakh children between 0 and 5 years. Nearly 32,000 teams and 3,200 supervisors are involved in the work. He said the children who could not receive the drops will be covered during the house-to-house campaign on Monday and Tuesday. He also visited polio booths at Lalru, Antala, Basoli, Jola Kalan and Joli besides Dera Bassi and Zirakpur to supervise the campaign.
