Chandigarh, February 29 The three-day National seminar on ‘sports, exercise health connections’ orgainsed by the Physical Education Department, got underway at the English Auditorium at Panjab University Campus on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. S.K. Kulkarni, DUI, said, “Exercise and physical activity are not only for sportspersons but it is for every one for better health and quality life. Even academician in the laboratory also requires moderate exercise”.Internationally acclaimed hockey player S.S Grewal emphasized on practical approach in sports and physical activity at all levels to enhance the mass participation and to save national sports.

More than 250 delegates from all over the country are deliberating on various issues related to sports, exercise and health. On Saturday, there will be panel discussion on ‘dismal performance of Indian sportspersons at Olympic: reasons and solutions’.
