On Valentine’s Day, the Sene’s general secretary Binay Kumar Singh and his brigade will roam the Capital’s streets to capture on camera the “obscene and vulgar” cosiness of young couples. They will then upload the footage on popular video site, YouTube.
Unlike in Mangalore, where they beat up young women in a pub, the Sene this time has promised not to get violent. But it will certainly not tolerate any interference from the police. They have sent a veiled warning to the Delhi Police not to be overprotective of couples on V-Day. Surely the police have better things to do, is the import of their message.
Binay Kumar Singh said: “We are not against celebrations. Let people celebrate Diwali, Eid or Dussehra. However, we are against the promotion of festivals that don’t find mention in our history or culture. Only multinational companies benefit from these festivals. We are attempting to preserve our culture and we want the youth to help us in this cause.”
Singh added: “We shall not organise violent protests in Delhi. People call us fundamentalists. They must realise we are working for a social cause. It is natural for people to call such organisations fundamentalists — like they do the Taliban. Even Bhagat Singh was called a terrorist by the British.”
Singh also said they are formulating a plan to “expose the people who threaten national culture by promoting a pub bharo andolan.”

Whenever there is ideological clash on cultures and civilizations we tend to forget the 'other' victims of such wars. Enmeshed in between are the poor people who are earning some money by selling balloons, roses, some gift items on the streets and parks. These couple are the steady customers these poor vendors, sellers have. But unfortunately, no sensitive Indian seem to be seeing it. Spread love and help spread love to live.
