Senior citizens dress up to welcome New Year

Chandigarh, January 6 The Senior Citizens Council of Chandigarh, Sector 38, today celebrated the New Year by organising a dress contest for its members. The smartly dressed senior citizens participated in the competition in which Suman Goyal in women’s category and IBS Passi and B Kalia in men’s category were adjudged the winners.

The regional manager of Centurian Bank of Punjab, H S Atma, was the chief guest on the occasion who gave away the prizes to the winners. The students of Government College Sector 46 presented a colourful cultural programme for the senior citizens. The working president of the council, Major (retd) D P Singh, said that more such competitions would be organised in near future. He said more than 100 senior citizens participated in the event. Secretary-general of the council G S Sathi appreciated the efforts of the staff of the Centurian Bank of Punjab.
