Saqib Nisar, who has been in custody since September 20, pleaded that he should be granted bail to take his MBA third semester examinations that will begin from February 7 in Delhi.
“The gravity of the allegations cannot and should not bar the right of any accused to pursue his studies,” Saqib’s counsel, Vikas Padora pleaded before the court.
Justice Reva Khetrapal asked the Delhi Police to verify whether Saqib is a second-year management student of the Sikkim Manipal University and directed it to file a response by February 4, when the matter will be taken up for hearing.
The police have already filed a chargesheet against Saqib Nisar and co-accused Mohd Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur Rehman and Mohammed Shakeel in the September 13 serial blasts.
