From the time of its inception, only three complaints have been filed.
Acknowledging the unpopularity of the cell, authorities at PU have decided to revamp the cell.
Dean of the Students Welfare (Women), Professor Nistha Jaswal, who also heads the cell, agrees that the cell lacks popularity.
She said: "There are many students who do not want to come out in open with their complaint. So, we plan to set up a complaint drop box in all the departments so that the students can assess it easily. Student representatives will be deputed to bring these complaints to us for further action."
The officials also plan to have a link of cell on the PU website. "This will make things much easier for the students as they can make their complaints online as well," said Prof Jaswal.
The students' council has decided to play an active role in revamping the cell.
President of the students' council, Sahil Nanda, said, "Every year, new students become a part of the campus but no one is really aware about it. No measures have been taken by officials to make the cell popular."
He added that the council is trying to make the cell popular among students.
