Shakti’s hat-trick goes in vain as CAL

Lucknow, January 3 A five wicket haul by Shakti Malviya, which included a hat-trick, went in vain as his team— Mega Trends was defeated by CAL Under-19 team by 49 runs in its league match of the Dr Akhilesh Das Twenty20 Cricket Tournament at Das Stadium here on Thursday. Shakti took the five wickets giving away 22 runs in his four over spell which included a maiden over as well.

In the second league match of the same tourney, Lal Bahadur Shastri Cricket Club (LBSCC) beat Unique Sporting by seven wickets.

(1st match)-CAL Under-19: 152 for seven in 20 overs (Akshdeep Nath 58, Avnish Singh 33, Arjun Kumar 22, Swatantra Mishra 12; Shakti Malviya 5 for 22, Gayasuddin 1 for 21, Rahul Sachan 1 for 33);

Mega Trends: 103 for nine in 17.4 overs (Rahul Sachan 26, Animesh 22, Anurag Mishra 21, Sachin Saxena 13; Shahbaz Khan 3 for 9, Meesam Hussain 2 for 22, Brijendra 2 for 27, Sushil Vikram 1 for 17).

(2nd match)-Unique Sporting: 80 all out in 20 overs (NP Singh 23, Asit Bajpai 15, Imran Haider 12; Javed Raza 3 for 19, Abhay Singh 2 for 12, Vinay Tiwari 2 for 14, Saurabh Singh 2 for 17, Dharmendra 1 for 11);
