Shimla The committee also decided to hold separate coordination and strategy meetings for each parliamentary constituency

The BJP’s core election committee, that met in Dharamsala on Friday to strategise for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, has ruled out chances of change in the allotment of ticket for the Shimla seat, sources said. Senior party leaders, including CM Prem Kumar Dhumal, national BJP vice-president Shanta Kumar, state BJP president Jai Ram Thakur and co-incharge of party’s state affairs, O P Dhankad, were present during the meeting. Sources said it was also decided that separate coordination and strategy meetings would be held for each parliamentary constituency.

The first such meeting began for Kangra parliamentary constituency on Saturday, where office-bearers of BJP mandals, district executive and frontal organisations gathered for the two-day meeting.

BJP candidate from Kangra, Rajan Sushant, will also be present in the meeting to be attended by Dhumal and Shanta Kumar, among others.

Efforts have also been started to win back confidence of BJP minister R D Kashyap to strengthen the party’s chances for securing the Shimla seat.

Kashyap had turned a rebel in last assembly elections and managed to bag about 10,000 votes as an independent candidate.
