Shiv Sena district president hurt in brawl

kharar President of the Mohali district unit of Shiv Sena (Hindustan) Rajbeer Singh alias Raji sustained serious injuries in a brawl in Kharar on Tuesday, the police said.

A Congress activist, Surinder Singh, was also injured in the scuffle.

Investigation officer Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jagroop Singh said Raji's friend Happy owed money to Surinder, who had visited former's place in Chhajjumajra village in Kharar on Monday, when he was not available.

Today, Happy, along with Raji, also resident of Chhajjumajra, went to Surinder's place in Kharar and entered into a heated argument over his coming over to his place for demanding money. Soon both opened an attack on Surinder, who pounced on them in defence, leading to serious injuries to Raji, while Happy escaped unhurt, said the ASI. Happy and Raji have been booked for assault.

Meanwhile, Raji was shifted to Chandigarh PGIMER in critical condition, added the ASI.
