Sick man pulled out of bus, dies unattended

Kolkata A 50-year-old unidentified man died unattended this afternoon on the pavement of a flyover after he was forced to get down from a bus when he fell ill. According to a senior officer of Howrah district, the man had boarded the bus from Howrah Maidan bus stand and fell ill when the bus reached Cab Road. He asked others to help him reach a hospital. However, some of the passengers and the driver took him out of the bus and left him on the footpath of the Bankim Setu. He lay unattended for an hour after which a vendor noticed him and informed the police. Officers from the Howrah police station took him to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. A senior officer said they are trying to identify the bus and would take steps against the driver and conductor.
