Chandigarh, March 1 Sorry no information found Since January, the UT District

Courts website has only this apology to offer for every click on the cause list, daily orders or judgment hyperlinks.

The website, which once enjoyed the status of being the first in the region for a district court, has not been updated. Citing the National Informatics Centre, officials say the operating system of the website server has collapsed. The operating system is learnt to have collapsed in December last year.

Only after courts reopened in the first week of January was the problem registered. “The problem was reported to the NIC officials. They told us that the operating system of the website had collapsed and that it would be immediately rectified. It’s been more than two months but the website is still not functioning” said a court official.

State Informatics Officer Ajay Rampal of the NIC expressed his ignorance about the issue.

“Is there a problem with the website ? Well, nobody reported it to me. I will immediately get it checked. But in any case, we only provide technical solution and if the judgments, daily orders are not uploaded then it has not got anything to do with our department,” said Rampal.

A lower court judge told Newsline that the problem had been reported to NIC officials a number of times. “Every time we ask them about the progress on the website, we are told that the problem has been resolved and the operating system will start functioning from the next day,” said a judge.

This is not for the first time that the website has developed a snag. Earlier, the website had developed a snag because of which it could not be accessed for over a week.
