Six-year-old raped, murdered; accused held

Hoshiarpur, February 7 A Six-year-old girl was raped and murdered by a migrant youth in this district, police said today. The daughter of a migrant labourer, the victim fell prey to the lust of a migrant youth who was an employee of her father and had been living in the same slum cluster where the girl also lived with her family.

Deepak, son of Sagli Pal, who belongs to Khaprana in Bagpat (Uttar Pradesh), had been working in a temporary roadside refinery of the victim’s father, who hails from Jailasa in Muzzaffarnagar district, at Satnaur village. Deepak last night allegedly took the girl to nearby fields and after raping her, killed her and threw the body in a ditch in the fields of Kashmir Singh, son of Moti Ram, a resident of the same village.

When the victim’s father found his daughter missing, he searched for her and found her body in the ditch. Later it was established that she was first raped and later killed by the accused. Deepak was handed over to the police and a case has been registered against him.
