Jewelleries and costumes used in tele-serials have always been a hit among the viewers, specially of a periodic tele-serial, where each piece of jewel reflects richness or the era. Star Pravaha has launched a series of exhibitions, which are to hit five cities in Maharashtra, which will showcase the costumes used in the famous teleseries Raja Shiv Chhatrapati. The first exhibition will be held at Shivaji Maratha School in Sahakar Nagar on Saturday. Speaking more about the event Kiran Shetty one of the organisers says, "The Exhibition is held to showcase the various costumes, jewellery, armour and weapons used in the serial. We wanted school children to see the type of weaponry and costumes that were inherent to the Maratha culture of Shivaji's times." Jewellery worth Rs 70 lakhs has been used in the making of the serial. On display were the costumes worn by Jijabai, Shivaji, the Maval warriors and also the costumes worn by Aurangzeb the Mughal emperor. Also the various arms of the Maratha period, which include the double hilted swords, the Kukri's, leather coated shields and the famous Dandpatta. In addition to the jewellery an exact replica of the 'Bhavani Talwar' used by Shivaji has also been made at a whopping cost of Rs 40 lakhs for the serial.
