Up and Above
If you want to wrap it up within 12 hours or indulge in nature for a week – Prabalgad Fort is the apt destination for you. To introduce the harmony with which nature and man-made beauties live, National Education Foundation is organising a weekend one -day trek to Prabalgad Fort near Panvel on Sunday, November 8.
“Prabalgad fort is located in between Matheran and Panvel, visible from the Mumbai Pune expressway at an elevation of 2300 feet in the Sahyadri mountains. The place doesn’t have a good source of water supply because of its location on a plateau. It was known as Muranjan until it was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's rule,” says Sidharth Thembe, member, NEF. The trek would include transport, breakfast with juice, evening tea and snacks, games and activities and inputs on flora and fauna. Participants will have to report to NEF office at 5.00 am.
