Dressed in her stilettos, a broad belt and flawless make up, society darling Queenie Dhody was spotted at a Women’s Day event at the SNDT campus.

Naturally she stood out amidst the khadi and sari-clad ladies at the Bole Kishore event organised by Vacha Resource Centre for Women and Girls, Population First, SNDT University, and SAS, a career counseling group.

Dhody was seen with a note-pad in hand taking down notes, journalist style, as she helped conduct the Population First quiz with the women and girls present at the event.

“I am here not as an observer but to get involved with the stories of these women. The films showed them taking up the camera to document their

own, and lives of others who spend their days in chawls, and this quiz is to generate awareness among women about the importance of being a woman,” says Dhody.

“We were quite happy to have Queenie among us, it’s an unusual experience. We had invited her to be one of the guests but she got involved hands-on,” says Nishchint Hora of Vacha.
