“We are looking at three-four formats and one is that of food that goes well with wine. The idea behind this is to promote wine and in Pune there are lots of young professionals who will definitely appreciate the idea. This will popularise wine drinking and educate consumers on wine etiquette,” said Ravi Jain, director, Vallee de Vin.

Vallée de Vin has launched 'Zampa', under which its first two varieties - Zampa Syrah 2007 (red wine) and Zampa Chenin Blanc 2008 (white wine) are already available in the city.

“ The company has also recently launched the Zampa Syrah Rosé 2008 and we have major expansion plans for the country and will launch four more products. These include the Cabernet Sauvignon, the Syrah Rosé, the Sparkling, the Syrah Rosé Sparkling and the Viognier,” said Ravi Jain,

The company has its vineyards and winery in Sanjegaon, near Nasik, also known as the Napa Valley of India.

“ We are also planning to come up with wine tourism which is already in other countries. The beautiful location of that our vinery is placed makes it a good destination for both domestic tourist and they can know more about wine making,” he said.

The company is aiming to expand its vineyards to 150 – 200 acres in the next three years. The storage capacity currently is at 3,00,000 litres and resources are in place to take it to one million litres.

Paul Bailey, a veteran Australian winemaker and Simon Robertson, viticulturist from Australia are on a long-term contract with the company to produce world-class wines and to also educate the Indian customers in enhancing their wine experience.
