New Delhi A day after a 34-year-old woman was found murdered in her Nauroji Nagar home in South Delhi, the police said “someone who had access to her house” killed her.

“The door was locked from outside; it was a friendly entry. We believe the killer was someone very close to her,” a senior police officer said.

Manju Joshi was found gagged to death with her own dupatta on Thursday.

The police are now looking for her mobile phone. “We have asked for the call details of her number. Once it comes, we will be able to ascertain with whom she was in touch before the murder,” the police officer said.

Her husband Mahendra Joshi has been discharged from Safdarjung Hospital where he was admitted after he collapsed on seeing his wife’s body.

Manju’s body was discovered after her 4-year-old daughter Tavishi returned from school around 12.45 pm on Thursday. Upon finding the door locked, she went to the neighbours. They called Mahendra, who broke open the door and saw his wife dead with her dupatta tied around her mouth.
